He directly controls the activities of the Secretariat of State Secretary for Defence Policy, the Department for Defence Policy, the International Cooperation Department - and through the Head of Department for Defence Policy - the activities of the Delegation of the Republic of Hungary to NATO (Brussels), Defence Section, Delegation of the Republic of Hungary to OSCE, MILREP and the defence policy diplomats working at various foreign representations of the Republic of Hungary. He exercises the employer's rights over the civil servant personnel and civil servant management staff of the organs and organisations of the Ministry of Defence falling under his sphere of guidance.
He performs professional control of the activities in the areas of defence policy (security and defence policy, defence planning strategy, crisis management and nuclear policy, non-proliferation, restriction on conventional weapons, disarmament, reduction of weapons, process of European security and cooperation process); Euro-atlantic cooperation and integration; international crisis management and peace support activity; bilateral and multilateral international interrelations; force goals undertaken nationally and within the frameworks of NATO and EU; anti-terrorism counter-activity in the field of air traffic.
